She has always been a creature of nurture. Breathing life and love into others seemed to be her reason for existence. She soon realized her heart was running on low and she needed to fill her own cup. Here is where her yoga journey began 5 years ago. After her own awakening to the healing power of yoga on and off the mat, she knew she had to share this enlightenment with others. With the help of Transcending Yoga’s teacher training program in 2014 she became a certified instructor. “It is truly a gift to be able to watch my students bloom while I nourish my own soul right alongside them.” Since then, a true Pisces at heart, Tabby uprooted from Midwest Ohio and planted herself on the shores of North Carolina where she teaches yoga on land and in the salty waters of NC as a Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga Instructor.
Rebecca (Becky) Hieter began the study of yoga over 15 years ago. Her studies became more serious when relocation brought her to North Carolina and she encountered a life changing practice with Valerie Kiser, at Sunrise Yoga Studio. This inspiration led her to study with her teacher Terry Brown, at Triad Yoga Institute completing the 330 and 500 hour with Terry in Greensboro.
Her teaching blends the alignment and balance of Hatha and Iyengar yoga, the Great Yoga wall and Restorative practices. She also teaches Vinyasa and Power flow classes. Her studies have been supplemented with world renowned teachers including, Julie Gudmestad, Bo Forbes, Doug Keller Aadil Palkhivala, Nicolai Bachman, Elise Miller. Cindy Dollar, and many others.
I am a lifelong student, inspired by love, light and laughter. Come practice with me to rediscover the unique beauty, balance and strength that is you.
I have always been a person of movement: a competitive cheerleader, softball player, and long distance runner. In an effort to shed my shell of intensity hardened by competition, I stepped on a yoga mat for the first time 3 years ago in an effort to find peace, light, and stillness. Today my intensity can be seen in my passion for a continuous practice and study of yoga. I offer space for others on all paths of a yoga journey to rid themselves of the rigidity that life and competition create - a place for them to find the energy and vigor of fluid movement and a quiet stillness - a place to find the grace and peace that is created when we rid ourselves of expectations and find contentment in our present wholeness.
I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Transcending Yoga in Swansboro, North Carolina. I am deeply grateful for the compassionate guidance that my teachers have shared with me, for they have shown me that yoga can offer a true contentment with who you are in a present moment while understanding all of the variances and changes that exist within you.
As an RYT 200, Grace has been practicing for 12 years and teaching for 4. She graduated from the yoga school Transcending Yoga and works full time at Second Wind. Her practice promotes detoxification and grounding. Mindful of the mental aspect of yoga, she incorporates this into her practice by leading awareness cues throughout her Vinyasa-style class. Her world travelling experience plays a big part in all of her classes, but India in particular inspires her fast-paced, yet conscious instruction. Aware of carrying her yoga with her, she aspires to show her students and everyone around her what “practicing on and off the mat” means to her.
Ann-Marie has been practicing yoga since 2000 and started teaching in 2005. 2010 she began teaching yoga and breath work to the marines and sailors at Camp Lejeune, NC through outpatient and inpatient classes with the Mental Health Department. 2011 was transformational for my yoga journey. I completed my first 200 hour yoga training (RYT200) and incorporated yoga into my work at the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune. I was blessed to be sent to San Francisco to train and study with Richard Miller, PhD completing iRest Yoga Nidra Level 1. For me, yoga is life. It saves lives, it gives life back. It’s pretty magical this journey of yoga. The journey of the self, to the self, through the self. That’s the beauty of yoga – the journey. I can keep growing, learning, traveling, studying, practicing, and sharing my passion I have for the healing properties of yoga.
